24 hour emergency Burnfield Demolition cover
October 4, 2010
Following a major city centre fire on the night of 2nd October 2010, Burnfield Demolition’s 24 hour emergency team were called into action to assist Building Control and the Fire Service into the following morning.
The fire caused widespread structural damage to the roof and upper floors of the derelict four storey tenement building.
Having secured the site and completed a structural appraisal our team set to work to remove the danger. Using a 50 tonne mobile crane and man-basket to remainder of the roof was quickly removed allowing our operatives to progress with reducing the height of the gable end.
Our prompt site operations ensured that the temporary carriageway restrictions were limited to 24 hours avoiding any unnecessary delays to the Monday morning rush-hour.
