R&A call on Burnfield Demolition for new Glasgow golf centre

Burnfield Demolition are currently demolishing Lethamhill Golf Club. The existing clubhouse was stripped of any hazardous materials such as asbestos and removed by GreenAir Environmental Ltd. The building is now being machine demolished with materials separated and sent for recycling.

The client, the world renowned R&A (Royal & Ancient) is set to build a golf and family community hub within the current Hogganfield Loch, Seven Lochs Wetland, in Glasgow, with extensive upgrades to the current municipal Lethamhill golf course. The project, which incorporates plans for a £10 million “Swing Zone” including a pitch and putt course, floodlit driving range and indoor golf simulator, has been described by council officials as the first of its kind worldwide for the R&A and will be completed by summer 2023.

Adventure golf, putting greens, a short-game area, a nine-hole course, a par three course and a 25-bay floodlit driving range are also included in the plans as are a new network of nature trails, open to the public, linking with Seven Lochs Wetland Park next door.
