How does facade retention work?

Facade retention is the removal of a buildings internal floors & walls whilst retaining the original front or outer walls. This requirement has become more common due to buildings becoming listed because of their historical nature or architectural importance.
Critical items to be considered are:
- Design – internal/external
- Kentledge – the weights required to support the retention system and facade.
- Retention system – scaffold, steel, proprietary system i.e R.M.D. (rapid metal developments)
- Foundations – ground bearings, piled or mini piled.
Our staff are all highly skilled and have extensive experience in constructing facade retention systems from original design conception and calculations through to ground works assembly including concrete base construction and subsequent dismantling.
