Burnfield Demolition Assist Massive Glasgow School of Art Fire

Burnfield Demolition offer a 24 emergency service and this was called upon once more to respond to an unfolding emergency. Burnfield have recent experience of such occurrences – Clutha Vaults Helicopter tragedy and the Glasgow Fruitmarket Fire.

The Glasgow School of Art and O2 Academy fire was one of the largest fire’s in recent history. It engulfed a large swathe of Glasgow’s city centre and made many businesses and homes uninhabitable.

Burnfield Demolition were asked by Glasgow City Council’s Building Control team to liaise with the emergency services in ensuring no members of the public were at risk. Hoardings and perimeter barriers were immediately erected to create a no-go zone and protect the public. The fencing and hoardings will remain in place until the site is deemed safe by Glasgow City Council’s engineers and fire damage experts.
